“Nothing Happens for a Reason” (watercolor and india ink on arches cold press 140#. 13.5"x9" picture plane plus border) was completed in 2023 and is the very first in the series. The process was experimental as I layed microthin layers of pigment, letting each layer dry before the next. Some compartments hold dozens of layers and some over a hundred. The end result is a vividly saturated piece alive with motion. Each piece develops organically hour by hour with painstaking detail over every part of the picture plane.
